About Gonzaga Manso

Gonzaga is passionate about images, both static and moving. Self-taught, he began to experiment with photography at a very early age and gradually made the transition to directing, a world that amazed him and allowed him to broaden his horizons.
His photographic background gave him a very special sensitivity when it came to telling his stories. Obsessed with framing and camera movement, he usually operates himself the camera to control the rhythm of the images and be closer to his actors.
In addition to his aesthetic skills, he is a great enthusiast of storytelling and directing actors. He's one of those directors who manages to bring emotion to the screen and connect with the audience. This is shown by his three short films, which have accumulated more than 300 official selections and 100 awards at prestigious international festivals.
As a photographer he has won more than 30 international awards and been considered among the 200 best advertising photographers in the world and the top 3 best photographers in Spain. In some special projects he works as a director of photography, to date he has shot two feature films as a DOP.

Gonzaga was born and raised in Madrid, although his grandparents are from northern Spain and Galicia is the place that feels like home to him.
He played bass in a grunge/rock band for twelve years! And he is also quite addicted to sports, especially rock climbing and surfing.
After heavy work periods he always enjoys escaping to the mountains and spending several days in nature isolated from everything.
He loves to travel and he is lucky enough to have done it a lot.
