ABOUT MAXIMILIAN BUCK
I was born in 1984 in the south of Germany.
Back in the days of innocent childhood, the video store was
my kingdom of magic, even if I couldn't step inside. I'd
stand outside, pointing at all those epic movies I desired,
and my dad would do the renting for me. From classic films to
gritty South Korean crime dramas (my favorite!), years later,
after losing my innocence and stepping out of fictional
worlds into the world of the working man, I try to make all
of my money by getting lost in fiction again.
I studied feature film directing at the famous Filmakademie
Baden-Württemberg, and after a few short movies, I finished
my first feature film that hit cinemas in 2016 and was
awarded the First Steps Award. Currently, I am in development
of my first English debut.
Most of my features were financed by shooting commercials and
music videos during film school, so easily enough, I just
kept going and fell in love with short narratives. I love my
work with a golden era cinematic touch and an emotional
narrative core. I have international shooting experience,
working with wonderful crews around the world (Hong Kong,
Scotland, France, Ukraine, Portugal).
But enough talk, it's time to reach out, so we can light up
some screens.
I live with with my family, 2 kids, in the beautiful city of Stuttgart.
