There is a beauty to be found in everyday moments. A beauty that we can all recognise, but we rarely spend time thinking about it. This fascinates Joris, whether he is shooting with kids, food or storytelling. He spends his time elevating the everyday into evocative moments of intimacy and joy.

Although shooting food is a technical art for him and his food shots are always set within the wider context of real life, real people and real emotions. Every shot brings a fresh perspective to classic kitchen memories.

Joris lives in Amsterdam with his fiancé Alina. She also is a director, so you can imagine the main topics of their diner table conversations.
In his free time, he loves Crossfit as "its a perfect way to clear your mind". He loves to travel and often visit Russia, as Alina was born there, so he is also trying to learn Russian. His English is perfect and he understands quite a bit of German and Spanish. Joris loves working in a foreign country, as it always gives him a fresh perspective compared to visiting as a tourist.
