Kondo studied film directing for five years at university, where he began writing and directing short movies. He graduated in 2015 and started directing commercials, mostly food product related, because he worked as an international food stylist before. In five years he directed more than a hundred commercials, for various food brands like Pizza Hut, Bucegi, Scandia, Selgros, Jidvei, OMV VIVA. Three years ago he was introduced to motion control technology, and started to assimilate and use this tool to create spectacular scenes, both with actors and products, obtaining premium aesthetics and delivering memorable commercials.
In 2018, along with a great team he obtained a Silver Effie for Transilvania Bank campaign, for which he directed a series of short films, presenting young and unconventional businesses. Kondo sees film in the manner of what Stanley Kubrick beautifully sad:
“A film is - or should be - more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what's behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.”
